Nikita is a partner in Dentons' Johannesburg office who heads up the Construction and the Infrastructure and PPP practices. She acts for employers/developers, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, project managers, banks, project companies and mining companies. Nikita is well known for the cradle to grave expertise in massive infrastructure, energy and mining projects.
She is highly sought after for the drafting of standard form and bespoke construction and engineering contracts. These include engineering procurement and construction (EPC) and engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM), design and build (D&B), operation and maintenance (O&M) and design, build and operate (DBO) contracts, as well as professional appointments. She has extensive dispute resolution experience in construction and engineering projects. Her experience further extends to construction-related due diligence investigations, and she has a vast knowledge of contract administration, mediation, adjudication and arbitration within the construction industry. Nikita also has in-depth knowledge of Federation Internationale Des Ingenieurs – Conseils (FIDIC), New Engineering Contract (NEC) and Joint Building Contracts Committee (JBCC) contracts and the Construction Industry Development Board Act.
